SeaRAS Raceway
The SeaRAS Raceway is in its basic form a water flow through system with certain amount of water re-use. As the re-use increases from 0-95%, CO2 degassing, particle removal and nitrogen removal will be required. The Raceway design is based on sedimentation of organic particles combined with skimming and degassing through SeaRAS Aquaducts. The Raceway can be designed in two different formats; Over / Under and Side by Side- Both formats can be designed as a complete RAS system with biofilter.
SeaRAS Aquaducts are used for circulation of water, CO2 degassing and skimming of particles that do not settles by sedimentation. These are located along the side of the Raceway, and also as mobile units floating in the fish department. Extra pumps are used for obtaining water speeds up to 0,5m/s. The sedimentation volume can be made 1-3x the fish volume in order to achieve necessary sedimentation.
The high circulation and the use of Aquaducts makes it possible to maintain low CO2 levels.
SeaRAS Aquasense is used for real time control of the water quality in these systems.
