SeaRAS Reactor

The SeaRAS Reactor is a RAS system where all water treatment occur in and over the tank.

Circular design with the biofilter located in outer circumference volum around the center fisk tank and where Aquaducts transport water from centre tank to the biofilter, gives a compact stand alone RAS unit.

The water treatment is based on good capacity on CO2 degassing and particle removal. The smallest particles that do not settle and float freely in the water are skimmed out in multiple Aquaducts, and particles that sink to the botton are sucked out from the centre well to the mechanical filters.

  • The compact design gives minimum length of piping and pumping height of water.
  • All pipes are available for inspection and service.
  • Small area footprint and low energy consumption
  • Good and uniform tank hydraulic with simple adjustment of water speed
  • Water with low total gass pressure out of the Aquaducts and well receptive for  oxygenation
  • SeaRAS reactor is fully instrumented with SeaRAS Aquasense giving real time control of the fish environment and thereby reducted financial risk.
  • SeaRAS Reactor is also delivered as a complete fabricated, tested and certified RAS unit (OptiRAS) in coated Aluminium from Leirvik yard, transported on barge to the client, lifted and skidded in place at location, ready for production by connecting power and water in and out.

Two main waterflows;

1. Water from centre tank and midway up from the bottom through Aquaducts:

Flow/volume: 3,5x/time

  • Gives low CO2 levels (<10mg/l)
  • Skim out smallest particles (<40µm)

2. Water from bottom centre tank through mechanical filter:

Flow/volume: 0,5x/hour

  • Remove majority of organic particles >40µm
